Middle Fork South Platte River: Fishing Report coming soon

Middle Fork South Platte River

Middle Fork South Platte River is located just outside Alma, Colorado, running along CR 6 and CR 4. Middle Fork spreads into numerous streams and rivers along Hwy 9 heading southeast towards the South Fork of the South Platte River outside the town of Hartsel connecting into the infamous dream stream. You can fly fish the river for one mile of public access streams on the Middle Fork of the South Platte River starting at the outlet of Montgomery Reservoir's Dam, running along CR4 and CR6 connecting to Hwy 9. The views are amazing and the fishing is good. Anglers will find anything from brookies (6-14in), rainbows (8-16in), resident and wild browns (8-18in) in the river and beaver bonds. However, the stream is small and brushy and you only have public access for about 2 miles from the dam heading towards Alma. Yet there are numerous public access spots stretching from Alma to Hartsel, Colorado.
