Jackson Lake State Park

Jackson Lake State Park is located off CR 3 and Hwy 76 in Orchard, Colorado. Anglers will find a large variety of fish here to include walleye, wipers, crappie, fresh water drum, common carp, channel catfish, saugeye, cuttbow, rainbow trout, and blue gill. This lake is primarily for boating, kayak, paddle board,  water and jet skiing. With numerous camping sites with lots providing rv hook ups[power]. Also there are showers and toilets [clean] at most of the sites. The lake is also equipped with multiple swim beaches. For Anglers if you can stomach the wake and over populated shore lines, this lake offers some many hidden gems. Having been reported anglers pulling out 28.5 inches 7.7 pound walleye and giant common carp in the 10-20lbs range.

Jackson Lake State Park: I have always been really hesitant about fishing this lake due to the heavy traffic and high wake provided by the many water sports activities taking place during most of the day. I recently was talked into heading out and I found this to be one of my top 5 Lakes to fish in Colorado. Not only offering a large number of fish species for anglers like myself who get bored catching the common rainbow, but, also breathe taking sunsets and sunrises. I had a lot of success my first trip I caught carp, walleye and crappie. I was unaware of the other species so restocking my tackle and heading back before the ice is my number one priority this year 2017.
